Employability Packet — Answer Key
Activity 1 correct response and the one-line reason, for the printable Employability Skills Packet.
TEACHER COPY — do not hand out or leave on a shared table. Students never see "correct" answers on the paper packet; this exists so you can coach effectively while circulating.
| # | Skill | Ans | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Teamwork | B | Take it out of the public space, cool down first, ask for specifics rather than defending immediately. |
| 2 | Communication | C | Rewrite professionally: clear subject, greeting, one focused question, name — and address Thursday early. |
| 3 | Problem Solving | C | Find a workaround AND proactively tell the supervisor — escalate transparently, don't just wait or vanish. |
| 4 | Decision Making | C | Document what you observed and report it factually through the proper channel — not confrontation, not silence, not gossip. |
| 5 | Critical Thinking | C | Don't click a credential-harvesting link — flag the red flag (wrong domain) and report through a verified channel. |
| 6 | Adaptability | C | Start what you're confident about, then ask the substitute supervisor to clarify the rest — don't stall or guess blind. |
| 7 | Initiative | C | Bring the idea to your supervisor as a question, not a unilateral fix or something you sit on. |
| 8 | Reliability | C | Tell the supervisor immediately, explain clearly, offer to help fix it — before damage compounds. |
| 9 | Cultural Competence | C | Check in privately with the affected teammate first. Save escalation to a supervisor for patterns, not a first occurrence. |
| 10 | Planning & Organizing | C | Deadline-driven order: the 3pm spreadsheet first, then materials needed by 9am tomorrow, then the no-deadline inbox last. |
Nine of ten correct answers land on "C" by coincidence of how each module was originally written online — worth knowing so you don't accidentally telegraph a pattern out loud while circulating. If you want to discuss Activity 1 out loud with a pair, ask "walk me through why you picked that" rather than confirming right/wrong on the spot; the packet is meant to prompt a real conversation with you, not get checked off.
